  • Bodie’s Methodist Church

I really liked the details of the architecture of the only church that is still standing in Bodie Historical Park.   I ave only really photographed architecture for a couple of years and I am really enjoying it, for this one I wanted the photo to look more like an illustration.

  • Methodist Church Interior in Bodie

We had lots of fun in Bodie and I tool lots of photos to experiment with several techniques.  I also use techniques that I had in the past and decided to push to a more surreal look as this town just sees surreal to me.  Just think people moved out of these buildings and just left stuff on tables.  Kind of hard to believe.   This is the only church that is still standing and I will likely post several photos of it over the next few weeks.  I think the donations bowl with the coins adds to the image.

  • Mono Lake Sunset

On our trip up north Cynde and I spent an evening watching and capturing the sunset at Mono Lake.  Here’s one of the first images I finished from that experience.  We spent the evening at the South Tufa area on the lake.  Prior to the evening we walked around the area and read the many different signs of the self guided nature walk.  I’ll be posting more from this trip along with some of the information from the self guided tour.

  • Trip to Bodie

Cynde and I drove up to Lee Vining in our van to spend the weekend exploring and photographing with two sites as the main targets:  Bodie State Historical Park and Mono Lake.  Bodie is an old deserted ghost town as after the gold disappeared the town dwindled to nothing.  Many of the folks that left there did not have the resources to take all of their possessions with them so they left them.  The entire town is left in a state of arrested decay.

  • Trip to Chicago

A few weeks ago Cynde and I went to Chicago for about six days.  She attend a workshop/training course and I wandered around Chicago during the day taking pictures.  The first day that I wandered around I walked by the sculpture, called the “bean” by the locals (not sure what its real name is at this time).  This sculpture is huge and  has some interesting reflections.  I will post a few more photos of it in the near future.
